Guidelines for Practice

Eastward Moving Somatics, both in-person and in the online studio, is a family friendly space. Breast feeding is welcome and supported.

Self - Care + Support

Take care of yourself emotionally, energetically, and physically. This may mean resting and just listening, modifying or creating variations for anything offered, taking time to write and reflect

This is your practice. You know your body. You are in charge of taking great care of yourself. If you need support, please ask.

Trauma Informed

All instruction is trauma informed. If you need further support, please connect with me.

Health Conditions

Please remember to consult your doctor or health care provider before you begin any new movement practice. If you live with pain, illness, chronic health conditions, or any kind of mental/physical disability please take care of yourself during your practice and apply variations or modifications as needed. If you need support, please reach out.

Accessibility

The in-person studio is currently and unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. There are approximately 10 stairs up to the front door. The online studio offers multiple classes that can accommodate people in terms of accessibility needs. All in-person/live streamed instruction takes into consideration the needs of the individuals in class.

Water

Please have a water bottle handy during your practice and hydrate regularly.

Attire

Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. Dress in layers for comfort and adjustments in body temperature. You may want to remove jewelry and tie hair back.

Cell Phones/Devices

Please turn cell phones and devices off during your practice. If this is not possible, please silence your devices and/or turn your audio off during an online class.

Space

My home studio is 200 square feet. Currently, I am only teaching private individual and semi-private sessions in the studio. The studio is currently and unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. There are approximately 8-10 stairs up to the front door.

Mats and Props

When coming to the studio in person, please bring your own mat to class. If you are stuck, I have extras, but for safety reasons it is best you use your own. You are welcome to bring your own props but it is not necessary. All props used are cleaned/sanitized after each client.

Masks

If coming to the studio in person, you are not required to practice in a mask, but in all shared spaces in my home I would ask that you wear your mask. This means that upon arrival and departure, as well as during visits to the bathroom and kitchen, you should wear your mask. I will wear a mask during your entire visit.
